Seattle's Hottest
Dance Party Band

The Highsteppers are a ten piece group specializing in classic soul and R&B from the 60's, 70's, and 80's… with a few modern hits thrown in for good measure.

Completely authentic with a full horn section and three lead singers. No samples, no backing tracks, no electronic drums, and no auto-tune. Just live high-energy soul music that keeps the dance floor packed!

We have an extensive song list that is always growing, and we're happy to take requests to customize our set to your event! Check out many of the songs we do on our Spotify playlist.

Want to book The Highsteppers for your wedding, party, or corporate event?

We're a one stop shop for all your music needs. In addition to keeping your dance floor busy, we also handle MC and DJ services. Plus we bring all necessary equipment so you won't have to rent a thing. All we need is electricity and we're good to go!

We can tailor our band to fit your event. Whether you want the full band playing dance hits all night, a smaller group doing something a little more low key, or a combination of the two, we can make it happen.

Frequently Asked Questions (expand all)

How far do you travel?
Anywhere! We love road trips and are happy to travel to your event as long as you cover our transportation expenses. Locations within a couple hours of Seattle are no additional cost.
What do you require to perform?
Just a space of at least 20' x 12' (for the full sized band) and electricity (or we can bring a generator). We bring everything! We do require a stage as it keeps us and our gear at a safe distance from potential drunken revelers (not to mention it looks so much better and provides a better experience for your guests). We have our own stage and lighting that we can bring if the venue is not already equipped.
Can you play outside?
We definitely can, as long as the area is level.
How long do you play for?
Our quotes include a 3 hour performance (with one short break), though we are flexible and can adjust our sets to your event. We are happy to play longer if you'd like for an additional cost.
Do you have a song list?
Yes, download it here. We would prefer you listen to it instead though, by using our Spotify playlist. It's a much better way to experience the songs, and there are most likely many on there that you don't know or remember too well.
Will you play our ceremony / dinner / cocktail hour?
Of course! We can provide a smaller group (or just a solo musician) to do a quieter set for guest arrival, cocktail hour, dinner, and/or your ceremony.
Do you take requests?
Yes! We're happy to learn a few songs for your first dance, parent dances, or just to tailor our set to your event. There is no additional charge, so long as you keep the number of requests reasonable.
Do I choose the songs you will play?
You're welcome to check out our song list and give us suggestions of what you'd like to hear, but you'll have to leave the final set list up to us. Just like a DJ, we know how to read the room and keep your guests dancing all night!
Can I see you live before I book you?
We'd love that! Take a look at our calendar to see when our next public show is. Get in touch with us and we'd be happy to put you on the guest list!
Can we use your sound system for speeches?
Definitely! We bring wireless microphones for you and your guests to use.
Will you DJ before / after you play and during breaks?
Of course. We can use a playlist you provide or handle it ourselves.
Will you MC the event?
Yes, we're happy to cover basic MC duties at no extra charge!
What if my event runs late? Can you stay longer?
Yes. We understand that events often run late and we like to be as flexible and accommodating as possible, however we will need to charge for extra time.
Can my cousin / groomsman / sister / etc perform a song with you?
Yes! We're happy to accommodate, just give us some advance notice.
How far in advance should I book you?
As far as possible! Especially if you're planning a wedding during August. We often get booked up two years in advance for summer weddings.
What's the payment schedule?
We collect a 20% deposit to confirm the booking. The remaining balance is due one week before the event.
What payment forms do you accept?
We can take a check by mail, or online payment via PayPal, Quickpay, Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, etc.
